Position Overview:

The Software Engineer I collaborates with a team of product managers, software engineers, QA, and other stakeholders to support and develop features and capabilities for Fama’s SaaS product lines. The role plays an integral part in providing application support to Fama’s Operations teams, supporting our platforms’ production operations (ProdOps) and writing code for new and existing features.

Responsibilities:

  • Triage and drive resolution of all platform technical issues impacting Fama Operations and/or our customers.

  • Develop solutions by studying information needs, conferring with product management, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.

  • Develop performant code accompanied by effective unit tests and participate in our peer review process.

  • Build proactive monitoring and alerting to notify team of symptoms before outages occur.

  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis and remediation of incidents.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to platform availability incidents and assist with customer specific incidents.

  • Inherently flexible with multi-tasking and dealing with frequent interruptions.

  • Comfortable working on software development tasks you have never done before and seeking help when you are stuck.

  • Self-driven about learning all facets of the stack to continuously build your depth.

  • Belief that in the world of Product Engineering, DevOps is king, meaning engineers own the product, from design to production support.

  • Comfortable working with diverse people and teams across the organization, from operations analysts to the CEO.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Direct or transferrable experience working with Python and familiarity with associated web frameworks (e.g. FastAPI, Django, Flask, etc.). FastAPI is a plus.

  • Experience and understanding of REST APIs

  • Basic understanding and some experience developing front end web components with these or similar technologies:

    • Javascript

    • React

    • Typescript

  • 2+ years experience providing Level 2 application support in an a very active software development environment

The salary range for this position is: $95,000 - $105,000 annually. Compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, specialized skills, budgetary considerations, labor market conditions and demand, and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role can participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
