The role of a Design Project Manager at GumGum is an essential one as they are responsible for overseeing the production of digital ad units and experiences for clients. The primary responsibility of the Design Project Manager is to manage the production process from start to finish, ensuring that all deliverables are executed to the highest standards, delivered on time, and within the agreed-upon budget.

The Design Project Manager works closely with both internal creative teams and external partners to coordinate and manage the production process. This involves managing timelines and schedules, coordinating project resources, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and updated throughout the production process, and troubleshooting any issues that arise along the way.

The Design Project Manager is a key point of contact for clients throughout the production process and is responsible for managing client expectations and ensuring that all deliverables meet their requirements. The Design Project Manager also works closely with the Account Management team to ensure that client needs are being met and that the production process aligns with the overall client strategy.

This role is a 12 month, fixed term contract.

Note: GumGum fosters a flexible work environment, offering GumGummers the ability to work either in-office or remotely/from home. However, for occasional in-person collaboration, we kindly ask that this position be located within a 'commutable' distance to our office.

What You'll Achieve

  • Project Management
    • Manage multiple ad campaigns through the creative development phase.
    • Track campaign timelines and prioritize design resources.
    • Support creative campaigns in various international markets.
    • Project manage complex creative builds, including gamification and new ad formats.
    • Implement and monitor minimum-spend thresholds and production timeline SLAs.
    • Prioritize design resources effectively.
  • Product Knowledge
    • Be an expert in GumGum’s digital ad formats and their technical challenges.
    • Explain ad format functionality and recommend creative solutions.
    • Define and implement best practice production workflows.
    • Support operations and sales teams with creative analysis and reporting.
    • Lead creative kick-off calls and brainstorming sessions.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Communicate effectively with team leads to flag bottlenecks and challenges.
    • Support the design team to achieve the best creative results.
    • Cultivate a collaborative team culture.
    • Understand core responsibilities of internal stakeholders and make effective production decisions.
    • Approach challenges with a problem-solving attitude.

Skills You'll Bring

  • Tertiary education in marketing, communications, or design preferred but not required.
  • 1-2 years experience in media, marketing, or at a creative agency.
  • Knowledge of the Australian media landscape, especially digital.
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial mindset.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Good time-management and prioritization abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Personable and adaptable.
  • Basic understanding of Photoshop is a bonus.
