Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director, People Operations to join our team. As a key member of the organizational management team, you will provide strategic direction and management to the Human Resources department. This role is essential in ensuring the effectiveness and scalability of our people programs, managing culture and engagement, overseeing the total rewards program, and ensuring compliance and risk management. The Director will also play a crucial role in people leadership, including managing the HR payroll team, driving engagement and performance, and ensuring effective communication within the department.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

The essential functions and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
  • People Operations: Evaluate and enhance HR programs, collaborate with leadership to align company strategy, and manage DEI programs.

  • Engagement & Culture: Oversee culture and engagement initiatives, provide coaching to HR team members, and manage performance review cycles.

  • Total Rewards Program Management: Manage compensation, benefits, and learning and development programs.

  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure regulatory compliance and manage employee relations issues.

  • People Leadership: Assist with HR and Corporate Payroll Budget, manage HR Payroll Team, and lead the Senior Management Team with HR initiatives.

Education & Experience:

  • 10+ years experience in HR team management, with a focus on generalist needs.

  • Experience growing and scaling an HR department, managing compensation, benefits, and equity programs.

  • Excellent public speaking and presenting skills, with high attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of California employment law, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to scale people programs.

  • Leadership qualities including mentorship, goal setting, motivation, and empathy.

  • Initiative and project management skills, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing.

  • Innovation and creativity, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibility:
  • This role will manage a team of 4 employees at varying levels.
