Super Evil Mega Corp seeks a Gameplay Engineer in San Francisco, CA.


  • Research and develop new gameplay systems that help achieve the overall vision for the game

  • Designing, writing, maintaining gameplay code in C++ to be compiled and executed on multiple platforms including Windows, MacOSX, iOS, and Android

  • Using platform-specific development, profiling, and memory utilities such as Xcode, Visual Studio, and Android Studio to optimize game system code

  • Providing technical guidance to game play team members

  • Discovering and designing solutions for game design requests using open source and proprietary technology

  • Developing fluid control and gameplay system supported by a variety of input schemes

*May telecommute from anywhere in the US.


  • Position requires a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Entertainment Technology, or a related field

  • 5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupations.

  • Must have 5 years of experience in the following skills:

    • Using C++ to create systems and tools that enable designers to design the player experience

    • Devising and implementing Gameplay Engineering systems; Investigating and fixing issues in code using industry standard Troubleshooting / Debugging techniques

    • Understanding complex Game Engine Architectures to help extend the functionality of the custom game engine

    • Optimizing code so that gameplay systems and features are performant on a wide range of devices and platforms
